Lily and Megan Hochberger, owners of Everglades Wildlife, don’t hunt rattlesnakes and crocodiles. They hunt alligators.

These two Everglades enthusiasts — with their 3-foot-long crocodile, the largest freshwater alligator ever caught in Florida — are dedicated to the fight to protect Florida’s waterways, all while enjoying a day on Florida’s gulf coast.

“Megan and I are big outdoors-type people,” Lily Hochberger, 42, says during her conversation with the New Times. “We love hiking, camping and fishing. We do not do any hunting. I do have a rifle, but that’s as far as I go with it.”

“My husband, his family loves to own and hunt and hunt large game,” Lily Hochberger says.

A Florida woman and her husband discovered a large alligator in their Florida home, and when Lily Hochberger heard about it the next day, she and her husband hunted the alligator.

“We live here in Southwest Florida,” says Lily Hochberger. “I’ve been to Florida almost every year for the past 20 years and I’m always amazed by the wild life you find.”
